Descripción:
Given the increasing use of smartphones and its impact on health, coupled with the negative aspects of traditional notifications, this research identifies key characteristics essential for developing an effective non-traditional notification interface. We introduce and assess our own interface, the Smart Tile, testing the hypothesis that controlled intrusiveness can be beneficial for users. Our evaluation included 77 participants in total. Results are significant in broadening the discourse on the effective use of non-traditional interfaces, applicable not only to notification delivery but also within the wider context of smart environments.
